Ivor gave us a very interesting demonstration on video editing. He went through the processes involved in creating your own DVD from video footage that had been filmed using a video camera.

Ivor then followed that by showing us some footage that had been recovered from some very old 8 mm cine film of motor bike scrambling . He explained the problem in getting reasonable quality video form cine film and then went on to show how he had put a sound track onto the DVD. It was quite interesting to see how he had searched the internet for sounds tracks that could be used with this film. The fact that modern motor bikes do not sound like the old scrambling bikes lead him to find some obscure sound tracks that did a pretty good job of sounding very realistic. So if you are looking to create your own DVD’s and need some sound effects to go with it there are plenty available on the internet but you may need to search for them. I am sure if you get stuck then Ivor will be pleased to point you in the right direction.
