By
the time I had finished I was the proud owner of a Video Editor,
a Web site designer and a Desktop Publisher.
They
are all superb and really good value for money. I look forward
to demonstrating the Web designer to you. It is unbelievably
easy to use. All you really need is to have a good idea of what
you want the finished result to look like.
Then
you simply draw it on the screen. Your PC and the software will
do the rest.
When
you load the software you will be presented with start up wizard.
If you have any existing files they are shown on the selector.
If you select start from scratch then you will get a work space.
There are various construction wizards etc. But I have not used
them yet.
When you start if have “look” in mind, then can
select master page and construct your “look” on
it. If you wish you can construct a set of master pages all
with common themes. Having set up your master page, add a navigation
bar to it using one of the many preset examples available to
you.
Next you go ahead and design your welcome page. It is just like
using a desk top publisher. Pull in pictures, add text frames,
add smart text, tables what ever. Simply place them on the page
then drag them to where you want them to be.
There are rules but they are not that inhibiting.
Once you have finished you first page, “page one”
appears in the navigation bar. As soon as begin to construct
the next page “Page Two” also appears in the navigation
bar. You find that as you construct your site both the navigation
bar and the site plan both automatically modify.
You can return to past pages and modify at any time, any changes
you make will automatically be included in the whole site.
If you wish to see how it will look to a viewer on a browser
simply click and WebPlus will produce a series of temporary
files. These will enable you to view the site using your browser.
Only the essential files are produced so if you choose the see
another page, there will be slight delay whilst the files are
updated. This is not quite as you would expect the response
time to be in reality. If you need see speed as representative,
simply click convert and you website will be constructed. When
you get the final version it will overwrite the existing file
so you can continue to check as many times as you wish.
Not
