5. Secretary’s Report
A year tinged with sadness due to the sad loss of Ivor Ruddle, our Chair and founder member, Ivor was a huge driving force within the club and instrumental in its successful longevity. We all will sadly miss him.

The programme for the last year had a wide range of topics that had been well received by the members. The addition of the projector had been a great success and had helped to improve the presentations for the benefit of all. Attendances were again good, similar to the previous year, averaging around 15 members per evening. The year was rounded off by another successful digital photograph competition. Chris Fox-Mapletoft won the inaugural Ivor Ruddle Trophy for best digital photograph. The Christmas meal was another excellent evening enjoyed by all that attended. Our thanks to Ben Barretto for organising the evening.

6. Treasurer’s Report
Finances remain in a healthy state. There was a small loss on the previous year that was attributed to a club donation to the Ivor Ruddle appeal and buying the prizes for the club photographic competition. Room hire remains the same as the previous year (£215 per annum). There is no need to consider an increase in the annual subscription of £12.

8. Newsletter & Club Website
The club website membership area was causing some members problems in accessing. It was agreed that Microsoft groups were not the most straight forward to access. It was agreed that we would look into either producing a simplistic guide to logging on or look into the possibility of a club global password. Members thought that the website was now growing well. Chris Fox-Mapletoft requested that any good links that members used be passed to him for inclusion on the website. He also requested that anyone wishing to have their competition photos displayed on the site should send the jpeg files to him for inclusion. As there seems to be some joint interest with the Melton Photographic Society in digital photography, there will be a link included to their website.

The newsletter was again well received by the members who found it both informative and a memory jogger for the next meeting. Derek explained that there have been some production difficulties recently but hopefully they are being ironed out. It was suggested that we might consider sending the newsletter out by Email, which the committee agreed to consider. The possibility of producing it in a PDF format would also be considered. Members were asked to consider contributing articles for inclusion in the newsletter. Committee members will be happy to receive them, preferably electronically, which eases the process of transfer to the newsletter.

9. Feedback from 2005 topics and ideas for future topics

2005 had been well received by members present and they felt that the presentations went well. Sid Freeman was really enjoyed the photographic competition and thought judges comments very interesting. He suggested that we get him back for an evening on what makes a good photograph. The committee agreed to follow the suggestion up.
