Last Meeting….

Many thanks to all of the members that entered our now annual digital photographic competition. The number and standard of entries were as usual to a very high standard. We can be rightly proud of our efforts and if you were unable to get down to see the entries, you will be able to get a second chance. Geoff has managed to liaise with Melton Library and we will be holding a display early in the New Year. More information regarding dates and times will follow.

Our thanks again went to Arthur Payne our judge. Arthur, whom many of you will know well, is a well-known Melton photographer and a doyen of the Melton Photographic Society. Arthur had the unenviable task of finding category winners and then an overall winner. Much deliberation went on before he was able to announce the results.

A very close run thing, but the overall winner and first recipient of the Ivor Ruddle Trophy was Chris Fox-Mapletoft for his excellent landscape photograph.

Another excellent evening and plenty of food for thought and ideas for those of us who didn’t win this time round. We certainly have some good photographers in our midst. Well done to everyone who entered.

Dave Robb
