used.
Where you have used imaging software to manipulate you image,
we would like to know what package was used and the specification
of the original images. In this classification only, you may use

is to enable other members to see what can be achieved and how.
To see the relative performance of one camera or printer or paper
over another.
The original work must have been taken in the past 24 months but
not be last years entry. Added images can be of any age.
Use your imagination and skill to help expand all of our knowledge.
MP3
Players

I am sure that it is cool to pay a few hundred pounds for a iPod
that holds 10,000 tracks but consider the little item above. It
comes with no memory but it takes SD. cards. A 128 Meg card is
about £10. A one gig about £70.
It operates on a AAA cell which gives about 10 hours of playing
time. It comes supplied with a cell and ear phones all for the
princely sum of £12.00
Now you may scoff at this gadget, but let us spend a few minutes
considering the comparisons. An iPod has a hard disk drive and
a re-chargeable energy source. When it runs down you must re-charge
it before you can use it again. With this carry a spare and you
are up and running again in seconds. The energy source has a finite
life and costs a LOT to replace.
The iPod stores 10,000 tracks on its HDD however if it crashes
you have a costly repair. SD’s are only the size of a postage
stamp, you can have as many as you like and if one crashes you
have lost £10 based on 128Meg.

The
iPod looks better. Well the one above looks quite good and that
is only £18.00 plus of course the cost of whatever card
you elect to use.
With either you can connect directly to a USB port and download
your music. If you have a card reader built into your computer
you can simply plug in the card.
You
can then set up range of music selections of your choice on cards
sized to your needs. You can update as often as you like and always
have you favourite music on hand.
I
am not anti Apple, or anti iPod but, come on, hundreds of pounds
for a thing like that. It has a consumer life expectancy of probably
5 years if it lasts that long without needing new battery.
When the Mk 3 4 or 5 comes out it will be nice to think that I
only spent £20 to take my MP3s about in my pocket. When
it is time for the scrap heap I would say I've had my £20s
worth.
Check
out www.mymemory.co.uk to see
low cost memory cards and these MP3 players.
Of
course if you want a mobile phone or Radio included you will have
to pay a little more.
