Christmas Dinner

Following the success of our 20 year dinner, it has been suggested that we have a Christmas Dinner sometime in December. We will check availability and price at the Bowls club. If you wish to be included please let any committee member know as soon as possible. Friends and family are welcome. Note, the December meeting will still take place as normal.

You may have seen the free updates on magazine covers. You may have already updated. Just word of warning.

I updated my tower, no real problems. I then updated my Notebook which also seemed to be ok. I then noticed that WiFi was not working. Communication is taking place but Windows does not recognise the network. As you will have come to expect I an now into the third day working on the problem. Not full time I hasten to add. I have downloaded a new driver from the Internet and I will be trying again to sort out the problem in consultation with Derek, once I finish this edition of the newsletter. I will of course share my experience once I find a solution.

Remember last years Photo Competition? Well get ready for this years.

We are looking for original work using exclusively digital cameras this year. You should indicate with your entry, the details of your camera as follows. Manufacturer, Model, Resolution. Optionally Shutter speed and exposure.
In addition printer Manufacturer and model. It would also help other members to know what brand and specification of paper was used.

Where you have used imaging software to manipulate you image, we would like to know what package was used and the specification of the original images. In this classification only, you may digitised images from other sources to mix with your own. You must however declare where your additional image came from. Examples, Newsprint, Internet, Conventional Photograph or captured video image. Again this type of material can only be used to compliment your own digital work. Scanned images or mixtures without the inclusion of your own digital images from a digital camera are not allowed.

Categories are:

Portrait, Landscape, Seascape, Children, Animals and nature,
Digital Art effects.
Digital Image manipulation.

In all cases please include the details. One of the objectives is to enable other members to see what can be achieved and how. To see the relative performance of one camera or printer or paper over another.

The original work must have been taken in the past 24 months but not be last years entry. Added images can be of any age.

Use your imagination and skill to help expand all of our knowledge.

Perhaps even help someone to select the Christmas Present that suits them.
