nisation is straight forward as the use Icloud to synchronise automatically.
All you have to do is set up your ICloud account on each device and switch
on the synchronisation in the settings and it is all done automatically.
If you have a number of Google devices such as a ChromeBook, Android
Tablet and an Android phone, synchronisation can be achieved via your
Google account.
If your devices are Windows based, then it depends on what email client you
use and what version of Windows each device uses. Some sychronisation can
be achieved in real time as shown by using IMAP protocol but contacts and
calendars may have to be a onetime import/export. If you have a Windows
PC and use Outlook for your emails, contacts and calendars, synchronisation
of a sort can be achieved by exporting to a Windows tablet or phone via Hot-
mail.com or Outlook.com. Changes made on a Windows phone will only
update to a Microsoft account. However, changes made to a PC will update
both an Microsoft account and the phone.
If you have a mixed environment, which I guess, many of us do. Then you
will need to search for the precise requirements of the software you are us-
ing. The internet has a wealth of information. This should be your starting
point if you are still having problems.
As for me, I am sticking with my trusty Filofax- the battery never runs down
and it is immune to power cuts. I do have a problem when my pen runs out
though.
Our thanks to Alan for a very informative evening and I am sure he will be
only too willing to advise and point you in the right direction.
