tions to a computer evolved into today’s standards.
Computer scanners
• Early models connected via the parallel port,
although some professional machines used a
SCSI connection.
• For modern scanners a USB connection is now
the standard.
• Most scanners are now part of an MFD,
incorporating both a printer and a scanner, and
may be USB connected or networked.
Connecting to your computer could not be simpler, making it respond to
the software you may be using, can sometimes be a little more awkward.
The software interface is the secret to successful scanning.
