models without having to reinstall everything again. Not an easy job with
dissimilar size hard drives.
So here was the dilemma, He had an existing Windows 7 system that
needed to be removed from an existing 160GB hard drive on to a 128GB
SSD drive in one of the Leveno laptops. He also needed to clone from an
old 500GB hard drive which was showing signs of age and wear to a new
1TB drive.
Steve was familiar with a program called Rescatux which had helped him
recover a duel Windows/Linux boot recovery. Rescatux is in fact a suite
of programs aimed at recovering a faulty system.

Rescatux is a free GNU/Linux distribution that is focused on the rescuing
of other operating systems. It works in live mode and offers a rich set of
tools to address a wide range of problems in Linux and even Windows.
What makes Rescatux stand out from the many similarly orientated rescue
systems is mainly its straightforwardness. Instead of offering a set of tools
that will help you fix your “broken” system, it starts Rescapp right away
which is a window that features categorized buttons to address a specific
problem.
