MMCC – IOT - 2017
The first reference is a general overview to IoT which seems to be
fairly ‘reasonable’.
The car link is from Microsoft and explains how, working with manu-
facturers’ “our platform will power next-generation, connected vehi-
cles with advanced navigation, predictive maintenance, remote
monitoring of car features and more.”
Voice recognition is the most interesting and worrying aspect of
these devices.
Great in the home…. “Who’s at the front door”, but if you want a
beer from the fridge, you may have to actually move and open the
fridge – and then open the bottle!
Once outside, these voice controlled things may get confused by the
noise and all the other people shouting commands at their devices.
