recognize the text, so fonts that are unusual or flow together will not be
recognized.

If your system does not include OCR software and you really need this
option, there are a number of free packages available. Here is an example
which I have not tried

Other issues you may come across are the compatibility of your current
operating system. Due to their often minimal use, they may be quite old
but very functional. This became especially apparent as people moved to
64bit and later operating systems such as Windows 7 and above.

write Win7/8/10 drivers for older scanners
• VueScan from Hamrick Software may be

• Supports over 2400 scanners, and also
