Canon for example will not upgrade scanner drivers for the new operating
systems and as far as they are concerned, buy a newer model. I have on the
other hand found that my fairly old Epsom PerfectionV350-Photo scanner
has been well supported and currently works fine on a 64bit Windows 10
system.
Derek Taylor has unfortunately fallen foul of the Canon attitude and had to
upgrade to a newer model. One advantage of this is that the scanning soft-
ware is improved and the scan integrity is also much higher.
Alan has found a piece of software called VUESCAN from https://
www.hamrick.com/ which may be the answer to your scanning problems.
Currently the standard edition costs $29.95.
Alan finished off by showing the group a recent acquisition – The ION slide
scanner.
