Just before I hand over……
You will have me talking next month – so a chance for you to get busy
and ensure that you are away on that date – maybe booking a short break
somewhere!
The topic is entitled Back to basics / Simple Steps – I wanted to call it
KISS (Keep it simple, stupid) but thought better of it as I will be placing
the usual notice in the Melton Times – and I didn’t want to get too many
people attending who might have misunderstood the topic!
So any simple task/ repetitive task that you do and are not sure exactly
why / how / what is going on behind the scenes… or maybe it doesn’t
work quite the way you would like …. or maybe sometimes it seems to
work differently. Any task that you use the computer for, that needs a lit-
tle explanation. It would be helpful to have some of the questions before
the meeting so that we can get a reasonable response ready – if we have
one!
That’s me done for another year – I hope 2017 is kind to us all!
6. Secretary’s Report
Dave started his report by thanking everybody for their contributions in
making the last year a success. He thanked the committee for again put-
ting on an interesting and varied programme. Hopefully everybody found
it interesting and maybe even learnt something on the way. Topics cov-
ered last year included Social Media, Remote Communication, GeoCach-
ing and Linux.
Our Photographic competition was a huge success, the entries were again
of a very high standard and thanks to everyone who entered and made it a
fun evening. Well done to Steve Orrell for taking the best photo award
and a special thank you to Geoff Walsh for all he has done to ensure our
