One of the biggest drawbacks to the IoT is security.

We have seen in the last few years, how many
major organizations manage to lose sensitive
information.

A couple of months ago a company supplying flowers for Deben-
hams was ‘hacked’ and it was reported that 26000 people had
their data compromised.
Not a large number of people in the scheme of things – but even
one is too many if it is you!
And then there was the site Ashley Madison that was much more
‘visible’ and caused much more than just financial problems….
The tag line of this company is ‘Life is short. Have an affair.’

Just last week we had a huge data breach…

When a breach involves 200M people – it seems unimaginable.
So this was human error – but at the moment humans design the
system and there are humans in charge of security.
